Friday 13th October – walk *** – Sunrise prom and two rivers bike – Sunny periods and breezy, heavy rain in morning.

Arranged to meet up with Robert for a windsurf foil at Levington this morning arriving at the marina aroud 9.30 with a good breeze blowing onshore, by the time I had set-up my foil board the rain arrived :( Robert arrived and we waited for the rain to move away before starting to rig, me 4.7 and Robert 4m, once again the wind picked up as more heavy rain arrived! I was rigged and ready to sail when more rain arrived with the wind gusting well over 30mph and the river chopped up, it did not look very inviting so we decided not to bother, so we packed up and headed for home, this probably was a mistake because if we waited maybe an hour thing improved and we enjoyed a sunny but still brezy afternoon!
At home I helped Mag put up some shelves for her plants so they are out of the frosts in the winter, a quick snack before heading down to Felixstowe prom for a walk. Despite the stromg wind from the SW it was so mild, we did a trip round the pier where we spotted someone windsurfing at The Manor end, definitely not my conditions! We then set off up the coast so we had the wind on our backs and it was lovely with a blue sky with some wispy clouds:) We made it all the way to the end of the prom at Jacobs Ladder with nice views to Old Felixstowe and Bawdsey but there was no one sailing so turned to head back, much harder this way straight into a head wid with the sand stinging my ankles! Back home for a cuppa, I will hopefully get a sail tomorrow but the temperature is set to drop!
